The Embassy of the State of Qatar to the United Republic of Tanzania organized a sports event on the occasion of the National Sports Day, with the participation of HE, Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports of Tanzania, Mohamed Omar Mashengirwa, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Tanzania, Hussain Ahmad Al Homaid, and a number of members of the diplomatic corps and embassy staff.

  In a speech on this occasion, the Ambassador of Qatar said that the celebration of the Sports Day comes within the framework of the State of Qatar's interest in promoting sports activities in a way that enhances physical and mental health, revives, and enhances the values of work through team spirit, and brings society together through sports, stressing that Qatar has completed its arrangements for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, despite the challenges of the "Covid-19" pandemic.

  For his part, the Tanzanian Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the State of Qatar and its interest in sports, and said in a speech that the State of Qatar's hosting of the World Cup represents the pride of the Tanzanian people and that they are looking forward to benefiting from the Qatari expertise in this field, referring to the directives of HE the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, to promote and develop relations between the State of Qatar and the United Republic of Tanzania.
