Any foreigner seeking to enter the United Republic of Tanzania is subject to the following entry requirements:
  - A passport or Travel Document which is valid for not less than six months;
- Obtaining a yellow fever vaccination certificate;
- A Visa upon arrival at any of the Entry points specified in the visa issuance centers.
Entry authorization:
 Upon complying with the entry requirements, a visitor is issued with a Visitor's Pass with validity not exceeding three months (and not exceeding six months for citizens of EAC Member States).

- Traffic in the United Republic of Tanzania drives to the left, and those wishing to spend a short time and drive in the United Republic of Tanzania must obtain an international driving license before arrival.
TRAVEL ADVISORY CONCERNING COVID-19 PANDEMIC FOR THE ARRIVALS TO TANZANIA
- Physical distancing, hand hygiene and wearing face-masks should be considered.  
- All travelers must fill in online travelers Surveillance Form available at: afyamsafir.moh.go.tz within 24 hours before arrival to Tanzania. 
- All travelers, whether foreigners or returning residents, will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test certificate, tested within 72 hours prior to arrival in Tanzania. 
- All travelers, whether foreigners or returning residents arriving or departing, will be subject to a COVID-19 screening, including a rapid test for those coming from countries with a high number of COVID-19 cases, the cost of the Rapid test is 25 USD per traveler. 
- All travelers, whether foreigners or retuning residents arriving from countries with the new COVID 19 variants, based on WHO daily updates will be quarantined for a mandatory (14) days, if their test prove to be positive and at their own expense, after undergoing a rapid test at the point of Entry, or those who have traveled through those countries in the last 14 days regardless of the path taken.  
-  Travelers subject to mandatory quarantine shall choose a place from a government-designated list. Retuning residents will be allowed to isolate themselves in their homes. 
- Upon arrival at any point of Entry (airport, ground crossing or ports), all travelers will be provided with health information cards with a toll-free number and advised to self-monitor for symptoms and signs. They will be tested and treated at designated health facilities by the Government at their own cost. 
- Travelers on transit in other countries more than 72 hours will be required to be re-tested by rapid test upon arrival in Tanzania. 
- Crew members shall be required to present a valid negative COVID 19 test certification as a condition of entry or departure. in addition, they will be screened for symptoms and signs in line with country’s protocol. 
- While in the country, all international travelers should adhere to infection prevention and control measures such as hand hygiene, wearing of masks and physical distancing as deemed appropriate. 
- All travelers, whether they are foreigners coming from India or have traveled through India in the last 14 days regardless of the route they took, will be subject to a rapid test at the point of Entry as well as restriction and contact during the 14 days in mandatory quarantine at their own expense. Travelers are subjected to a mandatory quarantine and shall choose their location according to the list (available at airports or at: www.moh.go.tz/en/) designated by the government.
